Community Guidelines
What changed in this version
- Published as a separate document for the first time; includes the rules previously in the Terms.
- Added rules for adding venues, Going, events and evening plans.
Kor is where people out at night find each other. So that everyone feels comfortable, these guidelines are part of the Terms of Service.
1. Be respectful
- Harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech and discrimination are not allowed.
- Sending sexual content, nudity or sexual propositions to someone who has not asked for them is not allowed.
- “No”, or no reply, is an answer: do not try to reach someone another way after they close a chat or stop replying.
2. Be real
- Use your own name and your own photos; impersonating others and opening a second account are not allowed.
- A kor can only be lit at a venue where you actually are; location spoofing, fake GPS or lighting a kor with someone else's phone are not allowed.
- Confirming a meet-up that did not happen or using fake accounts to earn badges or kor power is not allowed; badges will be removed if detected.
3. Respect other people's privacy
- Sharing another user's profile, messages or whereabouts without their consent (including screenshots) is not allowed. On iPhone the other person is notified when a chat screenshot is taken; Android does not report screenshots to apps, so no notice is sent there, but the rule is the same.
- Your friends' evening plans and “Going” status are shown to you because they chose you; do not pass them on.
- Only share your friend code with people you know.
4. Venue photos, marks and venues you add
- Only upload a photo you took yourself at the venue you are at right now. Uploading someone else's image, or one taken at another place or time, is not allowed.
- If other people appear in a photo, getting their consent is your responsibility. Photos showing a child cannot be uploaded.
- Music, entry and line marks must reflect what you see at that moment; making a venue look busier, cheaper or more expensive than it is, is not allowed.
- Only add a real, public venue that you are inside. Adding home addresses, fake venues or venues for advertising is not allowed. Added venues are reviewed before they are published.
5. Prohibited content and behavior
- Any content or behavior related to child sexual abuse (see the Child Safety Standards).
- Selling drugs, weapons or illegal goods and services; prostitution and paid escort offers.
- Spam, scams, commercial promotion, redirecting people to other apps or accounts.
- Praising or inciting violence, self-harm or illegal acts.
- Using the app with automated tools, scraping data or trying to bypass security measures.
6. Reporting
In a chat use Report or Block from the menu; on a venue photo, press and hold and choose Report; after a kor ends, “uncomfortable”; or Settings > Support. The reporter's identity is never shown to the other person. A venue photo that receives two reports is hidden automatically without waiting for review. In an emergency, call local emergency services first (911 in the US, 112 in Türkiye).
7. If the rules are broken
We may remove content, take back badges, suspend or permanently close the account. For serious violations (child safety, threats of violence) we report to the authorities. If you think a decision was wrong, email support@getkor.app.
